This is a rococo-style Grande-Sonnerie striking frame clock (Rahmen-Uhr) with silk suspension and striking the quarters on graduated gongs.

The frame is gold-leaved and the background is red with a "pendulum aperture", plus a silvered two-piece dial and a three-day duration movement.
